I have Spamx installed on both a G4 and a G5. I have used both 3.2.2 and 3.2.3 on both machines. Both versions work great on the G4, however both versions are not processing on the G5. They both parse the messages properly but when they begin the reporting phase they get hung on Looking up DNS.... . I have tried Force Quitting and restarting, both the app and the computer. UI have also tried reading the log and the makes the app freeze completly. I finally decided i was not being patient enough, so I let it run all night and it never left the message, or reported a single message. Any suggestions. Also previous versions worked fine on the G5. Thanks in advance for the help I love this product. I just hope I will see the day when I get down to no spam I have been running it for about a month and have gone from about 600 spams a day to about 300 a day.

Thanks again

Christopher

Christopher, the DNS error has something to do with your router, or your ISP.

Try to ping njabl.org. i.e. from a terminal window or command prompt...

ping njabl.org

If you can't ping them, then Sp@mX is sure not going to be able to find them. This is one of the resources that Sp@mX uses during it's evaluation. I would try resetting your router, or contacting your ISP and tell them that you are unable to resolve njabl.org using their DNS.

BTW the previous versions that you mentioned also used this resource. smile.gif

I cannot ping them but I can do a traceroute and a whois. Is icmp necessary?

I've posted a update that will provide you with a solution, if v3.2.4 cannot access a resource, it will move on to the next. Can you give that a try?
