I'm sure that there are quite a lot of feature requests waiting on your list.
But I will just add one which would help me in my daily routine to work with Purify.

After rating and reporting my daily stuff I noticed that all for all these mails I have to change the status to "delete" to get rid of them in the Jeffrian manually.

Question: Why can't all reported mails get the "delete" status in the Jeffrian automatically after successfully reporting?

My idea of a daily is routine this:
1. Jeffrian
2. Reporting
So the conclusion should be: After successfully reporting all mails should get the "delete" status in the Jefferian so I can trash them with one click.

Or is anybody out there doing it in a different way?

Hallo Thomas! If I'm understanding you correctly, you'd like to do your thing with Purify, and have "one action" on your part clean up after you??

Yes !!!

I'm curious, is anybody else it doing different then me? If so, I would like to learn a more efficient and less clicky way.

Hi Thomas, I'm a little confused, since when I do my usual reporting in Purify (in the "report" pane), all successfully reported messages get their status set to "delete" already ??!!?? But I do have to manually click "Remove" to actually get rid of them. Is this what you mean? This would be a good idea, maybe as an option, since I might have some reason not to get rid of a reported message straight away. But in normal operation, it would be slicker if reported messages were automatically deleted AND completely removed.
Cheers, Mike.

Hi MIke !

50% ! biggrin.gif - Yes, Purify should delete all reported emails automatically but also should it clean up the Jeffrian.
Why?
1. Before I do reporting I go through the Jeffrian and rate my stuff. As a result all mails will get a green, red or grey icon.
2. After reporting - the rated mails are still in the Jeffrian. Problem: Pushing the button "delete" in the Jeffrian will only delete the grey ones. Which means you have to go the extra step and mark them all to grey and delete them after it.

At the end you always have to clean up in 2 places:
1. The reported emails (easy, it is just one click, because they are all grey after successfully reporting)
2. The Jeffrian (2 steps: to mark all grey and to delete all emails)
This is not much effort generally speaking, but if you go through this procedure every day it can be very annoying.
Conclusion: Why not doing this all in one step?

Endlich jemand der mich versteht. tongue.gif

But ... more important: Are you going to change something?
I mean: Soon, not putting it on your request list for eternity. sad.gif

There is a new menu called Maintenance. The Menu Item Remove Deleted will remove all of the deleted abuse reports, and all of the deleted training messages from Purify with one action when the Preferences Window is open. tongue.gif

The beta, which includes this change, along with the latest version of the GeoIP database, and the German version of the Rate Received AppleScript is included in the download. The beta testers are a closed group this time around. I'll send you an email with the download information if you are interested in participating Thomas.

By the way, my Civil War game Gettysburg is almost done!

Hi Jeff !

We just made 50% of the way ... as Mike already described. biggrin.gif

Question: What are you all doing with you stuff in the Jeffrian after rating? When I have finished my daily routine I have a mix of green, red and grey marked emails. Are you keeping all that stuff? I don't think so. So you have to delete them once in a while. I do not get the idea of the workflow process you all are using ?
Apps like Purify for me are strongly driven by a very simple workflow idea. And my expectation is, that the software is supporting this workflow.
So how are you all doing it?

Isn't it like this:
1. Custemizing: I change preferences just once in a year. But this window is always coming up first! Why?
2. Jeffrian: Here my daily work starts. So this window should be the first to see when I get into Purify. Any other suggestions?
3. After rating I switch to "Report"
4. When reporting is done I clean up: Reporting an Jeffrian
5. Done. Closing the window.

This is such a simple workflow. I whish Purify could help to get through this procedure very quick and easy.

So the "maintenance" menu is just a 50% help, because I still have to go back to the Jeffrian and clean up the red and green marked emails.
The recent Purify work concept is for "insiders" (which is okay for them). But beginners need quite a time to understand the workflow. Why is here a button and there a menu to do this or that. It's not following consequently a simple path.

I do workflow design (concepts) in my company and I learned:
1. Keep the process as simple and clear as possible. People can be much more stupid then you ever be able to imagine. (maybe not in the Purify case)
2. If there is now need for a decision in a process then don't give them the option to decide. People try every button to click without asking if it makes sense or not.
Okay I loosing track of the top subject .... rolleyes.gif

But maybe this thoughts will make more clear where I actually wanna go to. Purify is made for daily business. So let the daily business be simple, straight and easy.

Thanks for listening.

Thomas

Thanks Thomas, I've got it now rolleyes.gif
Where my workflow is different, is that I hardly ever go to the Jeffrian. Only when an email gets wrongly rated (which doesn't happen very often). Ususally I just go to the reporting pane, report them all, then remove them all.
But I agree, it would be very handy to be able to remove everything in the Jeffrian pane with one click. As it is, every few days, I have to go there, select all, delete, remove. One single click would be way better.
Cheers, Mike.
