There is a new menu called
Maintenance. The Menu Item
Remove Deleted will remove all of the deleted abuse reports, and all of the deleted training messages from Purify with one action when the Preferences Window is open.
The beta, which includes this change, along with the latest version of the GeoIP database, and the German version of the
Rate Received AppleScript is included in the download. The beta testers are a closed group this time around. I'll send you an email with the download information if you are interested in participating Thomas.
By the way, my Civil War game
Gettysburg is almost done!
Hi Jeff !
We just made 50% of the way ... as Mike already described.
Question: What are you all doing with you stuff in the Jeffrian after rating? When I have finished my daily routine I have a mix of green, red and grey marked emails. Are you keeping all that stuff? I don't think so. So you have to delete them once in a while. I do not get the idea of the workflow process you all are using ?
Apps like Purify for me are strongly driven by a very simple workflow idea. And my expectation is, that the software is supporting this workflow.
So how are you all doing it?
Isn't it like this:
1. Custemizing: I change preferences just once in a year. But this window is always coming up first! Why?
2. Jeffrian: Here my daily work starts. So this window should be the first to see when I get into Purify. Any other suggestions?
3. After rating I switch to "Report"
4. When reporting is done I clean up: Reporting an Jeffrian
5. Done. Closing the window.
This is such a simple workflow. I whish Purify could help to get through this procedure very quick and easy.
So the "maintenance" menu is just a 50% help, because I still have to go back to the Jeffrian and clean up the red and green marked emails.
The recent Purify work concept is for "insiders" (which is okay for them). But beginners need quite a time to understand the workflow. Why is here a button and there a menu to do this or that. It's not following consequently a simple path.
I do workflow design (concepts) in my company and I learned:
1. Keep the process as simple and clear as possible. People can be much more stupid then you ever be able to imagine. (maybe not in the Purify case)
2. If there is now need for a decision in a process then don't give them the option to decide. People try every button to click without asking if it makes sense or not.
Okay I loosing track of the top subject ....
But maybe this thoughts will make more clear where I actually wanna go to. Purify is made for daily business. So let the daily business be simple, straight and easy.
Thanks for listening.
Thomas
