A few of you have reported a problem in abuse reporting where Purify will crash while reporting an email. For some this is reproducible. I looked at the code and have made one change that may, repeat may be causing this problem, and I've added a bunch of logging statements that will be added to the log while reporting if you are running Purify with logging on.

The fix .zip files contain ONLY the Purify binaries (and support libraries for Windows and Linux). Download and install the binary that matches your system. If you are having the reporting problem, I would appreciate it if you would run Purify with logging on so that I can see if/where it is failing.

Purify Windows
Purify OSX
Purify Linux

Since the new version new incoming emails won't show up in the "Jeffrian". Why?

Yes ! The preferences showed up as before. No change!

The Jeffrian is empty. The Report is filled up with emails. Many emails show up there with a red icon which have been rated good in the past.

I checked Mail:

I have received 17 emails in Mail.
Jeffrian shows 0 emails
Report shows 5 emails with red icon, 2 of them should be actually good.

Hmm, this code was not changed.
Just verifying, your Jeffrian filter is empty, meaning that all of your training words (Good Word / Bad Word) are not there?
Or are your training words there, but new emails are not being stored for rating?
Just double checking, you need to close / open the preferences window to see new messages that would be put into training, are you doing that?

The preferences are still the same.
The trained words are still there (good and bad).
Just the new emails do not show up in the Jeffrian for rating.
I always close the preference window after rating and reopen it after receiving emails.

Hmm, very interesting. I think what may be happening ..., I'm using the latest greatest version of my development tool, and I think that it may require that the database stream be flushed when a write is done. I've added this to the code, tested it here, works. You can download the version that I made this morning using the same links above, same version number, but you'll notice the build date is different in your logs.

Purify v 2.2.2, Build Date: 8/31/10, Start: Tuesday, August 31, 2010 7:45:16 AM

Can you please try the new version?
