Jeff,

A thought I just had. One major flaw with Purify's debug log is that it gets rather large wink.gif if left to its own devices. As a result, I suspect most of us routinely leave it off. The problem then is that if something unexpected does happen, there's no log to show for it - in which case you have to switch it on .. hope the behaviour recurs .. remember to switch the log off later .. etc.

It would be much more useful if Purify's log could follow the mac standard of being accessible through the Console, where (presumably??) everything's timestamped and gets purged whenever you run one of the system maintenance utilities. It would then be a far more useful feature, IMO.

I've no idea how complex it would be to make that change. If it would take a bit, then maybe as a 'half-way house' you could add an option to automatically purge entries older than X days, on launch.

Something else to save you from boredom ...

That's a great idea Lance! smile.gif

I run my logging all the time. I haven't busted the 1GB mark, but have come close a few times. I may just do something about this. I'm crazy busy right now, so, you know ... blah blah.

Fair enough, Jeff. Whenever you get to it will be fine.
