Don't do anything yet Ellington. Another user is reporting this same error on Windows.

I'm currently using a Windows API to retrieve the default DNS server (this is what's failing).
I'll try to cobble together a workaround. Stay tuned.

If you are using a PLAT version of Purify (2.0.2 or better) 3000 words in your good list, and bad list should be plenty.

Jeff,

I have updated to 2.0.4 and am still getting this error.

Please double check the version that you are running David.

The assertion message is NOT displayed in 2.0.4, it is what causes the work-around code to be called.
In the About box, it should say Version 2.0 (4/0).

Yep that's the version I'm running. Happened twice yesterday, today has been okay so far.

Not possible, there is no code to support the display of this error message in 2.0.4. blink.gif

Not had any more errors.

Could be I was running the old version by mistake, and then reloaded the new version after re-setting.

Cheers

Thanks for the update David! smile.gif

I'm running Purify Version 2.0 (6/0), and got a similar message today. I had to disable Purify after downloading a fresh copy. I could not get it to work.

"Warning, assertion fails - GetWord, scan index out of bounds."
Jeff Hendrickson
That is a legitimate failure message Eddie, unrelated to the other message in this thread.

This means that your DNS server is doing you dirty. huh.gif
Eddie
I installed 2.0 (7/0) and I have not received that message again.
I'll keep you updated in case anything gets weird smile.gif
