I imported the data from my address book and I was wondering why there where so many empty entries in the Wihtelist after the import.

I thought empty entries should be not be valid.

Any ideas?

To import, using Mac, if you import from your address book, it should use whatever is in the address book.
It does not check the contents for this type import.

If you import from a file, the file should be in the format...

entry cr/lf
entry cr/lf

The Purify export utility should produce an import in this form.
Dups are checked, not sure about empty entries.

I imported from the address book.

What I did was this: I set up Entourage 2008 and imported all data from Entourage 2004.
Then I activated the Entourage feature "sync with Adress book" (which was empty at that time).

So Entourage synced all address data with Address book. But because not all fields had an entry it synced "blanks" with Address book.

I always thought that "blanks" means nothing and can't be synced. But I learned that Address book can have real "blank" entries.

So Purify imported this blanks. Too bad. :-))

Maybe you should let Purify check for blanks and do not import them. That brings me to another point: There is still an open request. No import of email addresses which belong to Purify accounts.
