Full Version: junk, spam and bounces getting thru?

Hi all

Jeff has been graciously working with me on this, but I'd like to know if I'm the only user who is having about 1% or less of mail that EMCRX -should- have caught, get thru, only to be classified as junk by your email program.

I get about 1500 emails per day, and every now and then, one will make it thru that should not have, given the way I've got CRX set up.

We know what the problem is, (it's a weirdly formatted IP address in the From: header, like (1006@123.45.345.90 - there's an "@" just before the IP numbers).

But the point of my post is to see if anyone besides me is having junk, spam and/or bounces make it thru CRX and into your email client.

If so, would you check the full headers of those that do, and see if there's an "@" in the From: line?

Please post a reply here.

Thanks!
Jeff Hendrickson
Thanks for working with me on this Tracy. I've just posted a version on the web site (same version number) at ~ 8:26pm EST that I hope will address this for you. unsure.gif

This version should correctly parse the received lines that look like this :

Thanks, Jeff. It's great working with you on this.

I've just posted of a direct email to you with some more thoughts on where this may be coming from.

Now, I'll go get the latest and greatest!

I'm delighted to say that Jeff has resolved this problem as well, and that if you've not recently downloaded the 1.5.6 update, you should do so again.

Nice work, Jeff!

From a DNS perspective, this is a valid email.

I have the following entry in my blacklist settings that block these emails.

\bcasin(o|os)\b

Note the | is the character above the \ key.
