I'm coming down the home stretch on a version of SpamX that processes drag and dropped email from a Windows folder.

This version will support the processing of email from all of the different flavors of Outlook, and the other email clients listed on the SpamX product Web page.

It will not use the Outlook COM interface during processing, so the security nag is no longer an issue, and you will be able to use Outlook while SpamX is processing your email in the background.

One of the big features that I'm really excited about is that Outlook Express users will be able to do automated processing using the new version.

Please post a message here with your munged email address (i.e. jeff at hendricom.com), and I'll add you to the distribution list.

Thanks for you help! ph34r.gif

Thanks for all your good work. I may as well take this opportunity to note that my s-p-a-m is way down. There are reasons beyond SpamX for that, but SpamX still gets credit for a chunk of it. More importantly, while the s-p-a-m spigot was still on, SpamX helped me report the bulk of it easily. And Jeff, you deserve credit for your responsiveness to all our input - very impressive.

Why thank you for the kind remarks, and all the help during the development.

I've emailed you a link to the first piece. The Outlook .MSG file parser.

Jeff, I've used the Outlook Message parser a few times and it is very fast, and appears to be accurate. I haven't used it much because it still requires doing a manual lookup or using SpamX in addition.

Is that the isea: Check its output vs. SpamX's?
Jeff Hendrickson
Close.

I'm going to use the 'proof of concept' code from my Outlook Message Parser in SpamX to allow users to process their email from a user defined Windows folder eliminating the need to interface with Outlook alltogether (no more security nag, etc...).

The next version of SpamX will process them just like it does now, only it will get it's input from email messages 'dragged and dropped' to the user defined Windows folder.

It will seamlessly support Outlook .MSG files (using the code from my Parser), Outlook Express files (they are saved by Outlook Express as plain text), and various other email clients.

It will send the email abuse complaints using my old SMTP code from a previous version of SpamX.

BTW thanks for the test feedback...

I'm just about done... ph34r.gif
