I have recently upgraded from Windows XP Pro to Windows Vista Ultimate and now Sp@mX version 4.3.1 will not work and instead throws up the error "error httpDoNotSend 103". I have placed this in the "Ignor SMTP error" file but this makes no difference. The log file shows the following entries:-
"Validating user (i have removed the rest of this for security purposes)
error httpValidate 103
error httpDoNotSend 103"
Can anyone please offer any suggestions as to how I might get this software to work in Vista?

I have managed to find a solution to the problem myself. Windows Vista Ultimate comes with Windows Defender and Windows Firewall but without antivirus software. However, Microsoft offers a Beta version of its own Windows Live OneCare (a combined antivirus, spyware, firewall etc). Unfortunately, this software does not interact properly with the user before deciding which software is permitted to access the internet via my LAN but this fact is not immediately apparent. At first Sp@mX did not work. Then I found that I could not communicate with my browser based wireless router and later still found that I could not communicate with my Cable Modem. Only then did I conclude that it must be Windows Live OneCare that was causing the problems. I uninstalled Live OneCare and, thankfully, everything is now working correctly again.
Those of you who are contemplating moving to Windows Vista should take note of my experience and AVOID Windows Live OneCare until Microsoft fix the bug.
Incidentally, in addition to the aforementioned problems, Windows Live OneCare seriously affects both upload and download speeds!
