Today's SPAM was laced with viruses and reporting was an ordeal.

Every instance where CRX finds a "virus" it stops with an error message. I suspect this is to allow me to do something with it but I'm not sure what's expected. I have been flagging it for deletion and then restarting the reporting process.

Should I be doing something with these messages other than deleting them?

Could CRX be made to flush these messages if its not appropriate to report them as opposed to halting and making the reporting process so difficult to complete?

Lemeno,

It is a pain but I remove the attachment before before reporting. This will also make sure your report doesn't get rejected by the ISP because it has a virus attachment.

I could probably remove any attachments when sending the abuse complaints.

Some ISPs won't accept anything but a complete message. Maybe a configuration option.

Trickey one. I have noticed that some spam content is actually contained within a html attachment embedded in the email. In cases like this would I assume the ISP would require the attachment as 'evidence' of spam. Or does the abuse of mail servers as seen in headers suffice?

Hey Jeff:

My only interest is not having to spend so much time reporting 3-5 SPAM messages containing "viruses" per 150 + per day. Deleting them would be great because I believe the originators and ISPs are amoung the many that don't care and don't receive the reports anyway.

Tom ... Lemeno is my shortened form of "Let me know" rolleyes.gif Got a laugh out of it.

I'm with you, it's on the list.
