I'm not a SpamX user but have been wrongfully on the receiving end.
I've got multiple complaints with the subject "Email Abuse Complaint" wich are sent to
the following email addresses when complaining about 194.144.20.101:
<HOSTMASTER@ISLANDSSIMI.IS>
<JAEP@ISLANDSSIMI.IS>
<MARIUS@ISGATE.IS>
<HOSTMASTER@ISNET.IS>
<HOSTMASTER@ISGATE.IS>,
<PALMIS@OGVODAFONE.IS>
isgate.is is a domain that belongs to us (ISNIC).
It seems to me that your software is parsing the Whois output from RIPE and taking
anything that resembles to email addresses and sends the complaint there.
This is wrong!
It should take the email addresses from the "e-mail:" fields and use those for the complaint.
The email addresses from the "changed:" fields are just to specify who submitted the
update at the given date wich is in the same "changed:" field, that is the one that had
the authority to change that record in the database at that time.
ISNIC used to run ISnet wich was at one time the only internet network provider in
Iceland and therefor maintained the Whois entries for those networks.
The company was split up in early 2000 and ISnet is now run by another unrelated
company but the "changed:" lines are kept in for historical reasons.
I hope that you understand my point and change your software to use the Whois
information as it is supposed to be used.
More info about the RIPE Whois server can be found at http://www.ripe.net/
