I wanted to announce that I am the newest (only?) member of the "Sp@mX 10,000 Total Spam Reported Club."

It's not a club I particularly wanted to join, but I hadn't much choice--largely due to the recent glut of German junk that flew into my e-mailboxes in huge numbers during the past two weeks.

I should clarify by stating that 8,000 of those 10,039 (and counting) reports have be filed in the month of May 2005. Surely no individual has suffered as much as I during this past fortnight. :-)

Welcome to the club, I suppose. I'm actually pushing 15,000, but the system only shows 13K and change because I reinstalled once without saving my config files!

I don't know what my count is, I have reset my counter a time or 2, but it has to be in the thousands since I get at least 150 a day minimum!

I don't know my total spam reported, but it used to be less than 1000 a month.

Ditto, except that this week the German E-Mails seem to have ceased. I did report them religiously, so maybe, like Sp@mX in general, you have to stick with it before you see the results.

Isn't it odd that I--Bill Hilton Jr.--and another Spa@mX user named Chris D. Hilton (who is NOT to my knowledge a relative of mine) have been getting so much spam mail?

Could this be just coincidence? Or is it because our illegitimate non-cousin, Paris Hilton, has the same surname as we do and all those idiotic junk-mail generators are lusting over her latest quasi-pornographic hamburger commercial ( http://www.spicyparis.com/paris.html ) and harassing us instead?

Or is it just some other cosmic force punishing us, we Hiltons?

I'm breaking out my lightsaber this evening and if a spammer so much as looks at me cross-eyed I'm going for his/her heart (as if I thought spammers even had one).

What's amusing is getting replies from ISPs from reports I sent 3 MONTHS ago... well I guess at least that means they're reading their emails, sort of.

I don’t know about you, but I think I get so much spam because my wife, four daughters and two granddaughters are better looking than our illegitimate cousin Paris. Although, I am beginning to think I see more of Paris than I do Pam I am one lucky guy. I think I do have a “Bill” Hilton somewhere in my family. Drop me a line and let’s figure it out. If you have a link on tapping into the “Hilton” fortune I would be interested in hearing about that as well.

Actually, my e-mail address is posted at too many internet sites, which I am getting ready to clean up. My spam drops, from the use of this marvelous program, and then climbs right back up. I just cured a different deal yesterday with the guest book on my website. I was being inundated by everything you can, and some things you can’t, imagine. There were over 25 garbage posting attempts over night. Now the guest entries must be reviewed before they are manually posted by me. It is a shame, but I don’t know how else to deal with it.

There are several excellent utilities and websites which will render x@y.tld into (hopefully unparseable by spambots) JavaScript.
