I've added a requested feature, CC abuse complaints to another party (i.e. the FTC).
To use this feature, add email addresses to your CC list using 'Configure', 'CC To' from the menu, and add the desired email addresses (note the 'Add' button will not enable until there is text in the edit control). I've also updated the filter, to minimize the chance of a false abuse complaint being sent. And finally, I've added Macintosh Classic (OS 9, OS 8) support for Sp@mX. http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/spamxwindowsbinonly.zip http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/spamxwindows.zip http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/spamxmacintosh.zip http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/spamxlinux.zip http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/spamxwi...sbinonlysvr.zip http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/spamxwindowssvr.zip http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/spamxmacintoshsvr.zip http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/spamxlinuxsvr.zip http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/macintosh(classic)svr.zip http://www.hendricom.com/Downloads/macintosh(classic).zip PLEASE REMEMBER TO BACKUP YOUR CONFIGURATION FILES! -------------------- /r

OK Jeff: The status line shows that the software is doing something, looking up info in the US, Europe, wherever, finding domain names, etc. Only now it hangs at "no cc: list entries."
What does one do with this? |

Correctly define your SMTP server, and it's authentication.
Most SMTP servers use the IP address of the computer that last checked the POP email box to validate the user. These servers use the email authentication type None. Some require login, so you need to set your user name, password, and change your email authentication type to Login. -------------------- /r

I'm also getting an error at the end of my log file, "too many connections - please try again later. Disconnected. Spammer reporter"!
This is Comcast. Can I avoid it? Should I be worried? -------------------- -- Mark Sealey |

Depending on your ISPs policies, they might only allow you to connect n number of times in n number of minutes.
You'll have to play with this to find the 'ideal' number of reports to send before your ISP begins to whine. -------------------- /r

Could I suggest, for a future release, configuring SpamX to work in the 'old' style of sending via the default mail app on the computer as an alternative to an immediate SMTP send?
In my experience, as you note, ISPs may limit the number of connections within a timeframe as an anti-spam measure -------------------- Tiffer
