I have just received several notifications from my ISP's antivirus intercept and think you should be forewarned. It was received to the account that I use exclusively for reporting spam via Sp@mX.

Hidden in all that beautiful XML/HTML of a spam e-mail is all that lovely info that Microsoft ask you to put in when you installed Word or Publisher etc.

A great number of reports are bouncing from ISPs with the reason that the address it has been sent to does not exist!

For example
QUOTE
rainpoet@kt.co.kr
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<rainpoet@kt.co.kr>:
    host smtp1.kt.co.kr [147.6.42.20]: 550 User unknown

#2 plan appears to be: "just let the e-mail overflow the inbox, the server will bounce the excess so we don't have to do anything." sad.gif

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at users.bora.net.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<groundivy@bora.net|/webmail/mbox2/bora.net/926/groundivy|2|102400|104869888|99999999|99999999|>:

<bmgg@bora.net|/webmail/mbox3/bora.net/54/bmgg|2|102400|106164224|99999999|99999999|>:
Recipient's maiilbox is full, message returned to sender, (#5.2.2)allot:(104857600), usage:(106176512)

<anti1473@bora.net|/webmail/mbox0/bora.net/468/anti1473|2|204800|211337216|99999999|99999999|>:

<jpgirl@bora.net|/webmail/mbox4/bora.net/545/jpgirl|2|204800|209780736|99999999|99999999|>:

This has to be a problem with their internal routing as the complaint was sent to:

I would advise all users to add midosuth.com to their donotsend list. It does not exist and is either an accidental or deliberately engineered typo in the abuse.net database.

I've received another: "sorry we only take reports via the form on our web site" responses which rather ticks me off sad.gif I think it aggravates a couple of others here too wink.gif
Now I'm guessing just a tad, but my understanding of this:

All well and good but life is too short to keep chasing up these ostriches who refuse to deal with anything that is not strictly to their rules. sad.gif

Jeff can I ask that comments to this thread can be made to generate a list of ISPs that are insisting on web form reports so that your proposal to incorporate web form automation in to Sp@mX can be made a little easier?

In the meantime, I am sorely tempted to put them in my donotsend list but I am saving that measure for the second or third such response. Some do appear to go through %-)
